On Saturday January 29th, 2011 the Parish Nursing Ministry at St. Philip Neri, hosted a Women's Brunch.

86 ladies (from 5 months old to 95 years of age) attended the Salad and Dessert brunch. Door prizes where donated and given out to 25 lucky participants. The time spent together and the awesome food was highlighted by the heartrending story of "Alexandra" as told by her mother, Julie Ann Hilton.

This is a story of a mother's love, courage, commitment, perseverance and passion to advocate for her daughter's health. This is also a story of a mother's struggle with prayer and questions about her faith in God in times of trial and her understanding of the real meaning of PARISH Community.

One parishioner who attended the event had this to say...

"Saturday was a most enjoyable event....many days of work: planning, shopping, decorating, making phone calls - the list goes on. Not only was the buffet table laden with the best of the best, the time for relaxing and visiting on a cold wintry day was good for all. Julie Ann's grace-filled presentation was a highlight; what an amazing young woman, mother and wife (She must have fine parents!). It gave those in attendance an opportunity to hear Alex's story over the past year since our parish was involved in the fund-raising . What a privilege to hear their journey as we pray for little Alex's healing. It takes you to your knees.

Blessings to you both in your ministry

Wendy Moroz"
