Our Weekly Parish Newsletter for Sunday, July 30 – 17th Sunday in Ordinary Time and Sunday, August 7 – 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Jesus spoke to the crowds: “The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Again, the kindom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.
Again, the kindom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and caught fish of every kind; when it was full, they drew it ashore, sat down, and put the good into baskets but threw out the bad.”
(Matthew 13. 44-52)
Message from Fr. Mike for Sundays, July 30 & August 6
To the Parishioners of St. Philip Neri Parish, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints –
“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ”.
Life begins when you “Live with Intention”
So … walk to the edge.
Listen hard. Laugh. Play with abandon.
Practice wellness. Continue to learn.
Choose with no regrets.
Appreciate your friends.
Lead …or follow a leader.
Do what you love, and love what you do.
Live as if this is all there is … because that’s all there is!
Our purpose in life is to be who we are, and to do what we must do.
If you dream it … begin it (with others).
If you have an idea … share it (with others).
If there is longing … acknowledge it (with others).
If there is ‘mission’ … commit to it (with others).
If there is daring … do it (with others, with boldness and certitude).
If there is LOVE … speak it (with the confidence of the Holy Spirit).
If there is resource … use it (to the best of your abilities).
If there is abundance … share it (with gratitude).
As the “Body of Christ”, we make this prayer through Christ our Lord and Brother,
Amen
Because … God is good … all the time!
Praise be Jesus Christ … and Mary Immaculate
St. Philip Neri … pray for us
St. Eugene de Mazenod … pray for us
St. Kateri Tekakwitha … pray for us
God is good … all the time.

A Prayer for Ukraine
God of peace and justice, we pray for the people of Ukraine today. We pray for peace and the laying down of weapons. We pray for all those who fear for tomorrow, that your spirit of comfort would draw near to them. We pray for those with power over war or peace, for wisdom, discernment and compassion to guide their decisions. Above all, we pray for all your precious children at risk and in fear that you would hold and protect them. We pray in the name of Jesus the Prince of Peace. Amen.
“What should be done then my friend? Let all things be done for building up”.
