To the parishioners of St. Philip Neri Parish, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints –

“Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ”.

The Season of Advent – a time to wait and welcome the Person of God – Jesus, our Lord

You are a “God of Welcome” – even though we all face locked doors from people who won’t let us in, places that exclude us, colleagues who shut us out.

Help us to live with the many feelings of rejection – without them turning to poison. Help us to be open to others and their needs – rather than perpetuating the cycle of judgment.

May we create better experiences for others – experiences that are different than from what others sometimes create for us. May we find in you the “key” that opens the door to love.

So, who/what is the “key” to love? … to open our hearts, our entire life to an intimate and personal relationship with Jesus, “who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary”. This is what we say and believe when we pray the Apostles Creed. May this Advent Season be a time of healing and reconciliation, change and challenge, to live as God has designed us to live … seeing ourselves and others in the image and likeness of our Creator.

We know that all this is possible, because … God is good … all the time.

Praise be Jesus Christ … and Mary Immaculate

St. Philip Neri … pray for us
